New Class with Rav Hanan Schlesinger Introduction to Kabala Congregation Shaare Tefilla, Shabbat, 2 hours before Mincha beginning 5/17 Kabala is about the dynamism and tensions within God and within the world, as well as the pervasive parallels and interactions between the two. Nothing at all is static; it is all about balance and counter-balance, and the myriad strings that connect the upper and lower worlds. All of this is fleshed out as an audaciously creative interpretation of Torah, according to which the mitzvot are catalysts for the development of these worlds and for the relationships between them. This series will explore the basic parameters of the Jewish kabalistic tradition, its myths and metaphors, its texts and techniques, as well as its enduring and personal relevance.
