Rav Hanan Schlesinger

Rosh Kollel

Our Rosh Kollel (Director), Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger, although born in the United States, has spent most of his life in Israel, having made aliyah at the age of 20. His army service was done in the Hesder program at Yeshivat Har Etzion, where he studied for over eight years. Rabbi Schlesinger also engaged in Masters level studies at the Hebrew University and briefly served as a junior faculty member there. He has served as well on the faculty of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, the Yakar Learning Community, the B’aer Miriam College of Judaic Studies for Women, the Elul Center for Jewish Education, the Nishmat College of Advanced Jewish Studies for Women, Midreshet B’erot Bat Ayin, and the Bat Ayin Yeshiva. He and his family spent the years 1998-2000 in Boca Raton Florida, where he was a fellow in the Boca Raton Judaic Fellows Program (The Boca Raton Kollel). For the past few years, he has volunteered as a program director for the Christian Friends of Israeli Communities. Rabbi Schlesinger and his Israeli-born wife Ayala are here in Dallas alone, while their four children remain in Israel. The oldest, age 22, is an advanced yeshiva student, two are presently serving in the army, and the youngest is a high school student.
